I'm Wishing You...

...A WHITE Christmas!

Probably no one else is hoping for a white Christmas but me, but I love snow on Christmas day.  It creates a hush over the world that seems appropriate for Christmas.  A number of years ago, I heard this song and it's always been a favorite. I love the analogy of God's grace covering man's sin like snow when it blankets the earth. This Christmas may God's marvelous grace given in the gift of Christ cover your hearts and your celebrations.

Merry Christmas!

 Somewhere It's Snowing Lyrics

I once read in a poem,
when snow covers the earth,
That it hides the worlds scars,
and gives nature new birth,
And they say when a man turns from sin to the Lord,
That forgiveness, like snow, covers him evermore!

And somewhere it’s snowing –
see the soft drifting down
As the snowflakes surrender
to the hardening ground.
Like the good grace of Jesus
that now covers our sin,
In the kingdom of Heaven,
it’s snowing, again.

Now, I’ve heard that the angels
lift their hearts and rejoice,
When one traveler turns homeward
from his ways, to the Lord.
If somewhere someone’s turning, he’s giving his all,
And God’s grace, like the snow, is beginning to fall!

And somewhere it’s snowing –
see the soft drifting down
As the snowflakes surrender
to the hardening ground.
Like the good grace of Jesus,
that now covers our sin,
In the kingdom of Heaven,
it’s snowing, again.

Here's the Christmas card I made for my son this year.  It could be used throughout the winter months by just changing the sentiment.  This is a 5-1/4" x 5-1/4" finished card.  The snowflake is a chipboard die covered with patterned paper (retired Stampin' Up!)

May your days be merry and bright....
and may this Christmas be white with the grace of God!

Oh, I love this, Diane. The lyrics speak to what I have always felt when looking out on a freshly covered snowy landscape. It is so beautiful, peaceful, and serene...like God's hush is on the world and nothing bad could happen at that very moment. Your card is beautiful as well! Merry Christmas to you and all you love!

I'll only be able to imagine a White Christmas, since it is summer here where I live, but I imagine it'd look very peaceful and serene. Wishing you and your family a wonderful time as you gather to celebrate. All the best.

I love the analogy of that! I did a mini-devotional on that one time. Isn't it so cool how snow glimmers and twinkles? It's not a dull covering like white fondant. Instead it is a reflection of the sun, so we can "shine" and reflect the light of the Son. We can glimmer and sparkle when we are washed clean because of Jesus. Anyway, kinda went off on a tangent. Hope you have a very Merry Christmas!! Love ya!
